A Clearer Way to Explore Solar in East Peoria

There is no universal answer to whether solar is worthwhile. The right answer depends on the home, the property and what the homeowner wants the investment to accomplish. Solar Panther helps East Peoria, IL homeowners examine those details before choosing a system. We look at electricity use, available sunlight, roof condition, installation options and long-term costs to provide a recommendation grounded in the realities of the property.

When solar is a good fit, our local team can design and install a rooftop or qualifying ground-mounted system. We also provide troubleshooting and repair for existing systems, including many installed by solar companies that are no longer available to support their customers.

And because Solar Panther is backed by Roof Tiger, homeowners have access to one local organization that understands both the solar array and the roof supporting it.

Support for the Entire Life of Your System

Solar Panther provides local assistance from the earliest questions about solar through installation, activation and future service needs.

New Solar Installation

A solar system should be designed for the home it serves. We develop rooftop and qualifying ground-mounted systems around the property’s usable space, sunlight and electricity needs, not a predetermined number of panels.

Our team also helps coordinate the steps surrounding installation, including system design, engineering, permitting, inspections and utility interconnection.

    Questions? Answered.

How Do I Know Whether My East Peoria Home Gets Enough Sunlight?

The answer depends on roof direction, nearby trees, terrain and how shade moves across the property. Solar Panther evaluates these factors before estimating production or recommending a system.

Can a Home on a Wooded Lot Use Solar?

Possibly. The amount, location and timing of the shade matter. One roof plane may still receive sufficient sunlight, or a sunnier part of the property may support a ground-mounted array. A site-specific analysis is necessary.

What Does Solar Cost in East Peoria?

Costs vary according to system size, equipment, electrical requirements, installation conditions and the selected payment method. Solar Panther develops a property-specific proposal rather than relying on a broad average that may not reflect the project.

Will I Still Receive an Electric Bill?

Most solar homeowners remain connected to the grid and continue receiving utility bills. Fixed charges, taxes, fees and electricity used beyond the system’s production may still apply.

Do Solar Panels Work in Winter?

Yes. Panels can produce electricity whenever adequate sunlight is available. Shorter days, cloud cover, shade and snow can reduce winter production, which is why systems should be evaluated based on estimated annual — not identical monthly — output.

    What Solar Incentives Are Available?

Qualifying homeowners and projects may have access to federal or Illinois programs. Requirements, values and timelines can change. Solar Panther can explain programs relevant to the project, but homeowners should consult a tax professional about personal tax eligibility.

Should I Replace My Roof Before Adding Solar?

That depends on the condition and remaining life of the roof. If replacement is likely to be needed soon, completing the roof first may prevent the cost of removing and reinstalling the array later.

Can Solar Panther Fix Panels Installed by Someone Else?

Solar Panther can evaluate many systems installed by other contractors. The available solution depends on the system’s condition, equipment, warranties, compatible parts and manufacturer support.

What Happens During a Power Outage?

Standard grid-connected solar systems generally shut down during an outage for safety. Providing power during an outage typically requires compatible battery storage and additional equipment.

How Long Does It Take to Install Solar?

The physical installation may be relatively brief, but the complete process also includes design, engineering, permits, utility applications, inspections and Permission to Operate. The specific timeline varies by project.

Solar Panther exceeded my expectations. They were up front with pricing and time schedule. And they could tell me exactly who would be doing the actual work because everyone was local. Other solar companies couldn’t do that because they brought different contractors in from out of town and couldn’t give an accurate schedule for the work. The battery backup generator eliminates the need for a noisy gas generator!

Had my solar panels installed about 4 months ago and I am glad I did. Started my solar journey with another company but went with Solar Panther because they are local and honest. Installation and the entire process went very smoothly and they kept me well informed through it all. Had a micro-inverter go out today and they noticed it before i did and had a team out to do the warranty repair the same day! Very happy that I went with Solar Panther!

Solar Panther put the solar array on my house in conjunction with Roof Tiger (their sister company) who put on my new roof. The quality of their work is solid. We had a pile of issues with getting engineering approval for roof deck load because my house is 100+ years old -and- I foamed in the roof deck 8 years ago, so it was very difficult to get an engineering group to assess it. Ben was diligent, tenacious even, and got the approval take care of. Connecting to the house was a breeze, running conduit through the roof eaves down to tie-ins next to my meter. The panels are unobtrusive and lightweight, but fastened down well to channel frames. Balancing inverters are part of the roof hardware, so there's nothing special at all in my main panel. We just had to have room for large breaker. No batteries. No fuss. Cutoffs are external to the house, for Ameren personnel to use. My house is now part of the grid, which has been a goal of mine for over a decade. There's a lot of paperwork involved with solar, and Solar Panther took care of all of that. They have also kept in touch with me to make sure I was properly set up with Ameren to get my full 1-to-1 reimbursement for any surplus energy I deliver to the grid. (Yes, that means my meter runs backwards at times, which is pretty cool.) I talked with them a lot before we started this project: about panel longevity, rebates, reimbursement from Ameren, and also their involvement in the long term health and functioning of my solar array. I was concerned with how well this technology is going to age and how Solar Panther would support it. Solar Panther doesn't just show up, stick some panels on your roof, and walk away. They monitor and maintain your array. That's just part of their business. The best part of all this is that once the panels were connected, it has just worked. I don't expect to have to spend any amount of my time fussing with the system, and I certainly haven't had to do much in the last four months since our install went live, except watch my power bill go down. I recommend going solar. I recommend Solar Panther.

I researched 5 different providers and ultimately selected Solar Panther. They are a locally established company and use locally established suppliers. Communication was and still is great. The sales process was easy. No hard sell tactics. Just good people having open conversations. Would recommend them to anyone.
